C.M.Z. LOVE YOUR BREASTS POST 7

My seventh LOVE YOUR BREASTS post is the Zamboanga City landmark...Mount Pulongbato, which they say is an intrusion type of volcano, forming a magma dome (on the readers left).
Compared to the rest of the mountains in Zamboanga, Mount Pulongbato is made up of solid rock.

The other mountain is Barangay Muruk in Pasonanca where runners and bikers now frequently go to for their adventure runs.

Did you have any idea that this was a volcano?

Have you thought of these things, too?

My sixth LOVE YOUR BREASTS post shows apple tarts from Lantaka Hotel By The Sea.

These yummy tarts were made by my friend, Alan B. Dela Cruz during Monsi Dela Cruz birthday celebration!

Have you ever thought of these?

C.M.Z. LOVE YOUR BREASTS POST 5

My friend, Irene, had an Ultrasound to see the life inside of her! Then, she gave me these pink "gummy hearts", so timely for the Valentine season!

I would like to share some trivia on the CMZ Breast Wellness Center.

This program was proposed by Dr. Marissa Lim, breast advocate. She participated with an OCIL (Online Collaborative Interactive Learning) under Dr. Reynaldo Joson, presently, CMZ's consultant, mentor and friend. The Program was recommended by the CMZ Medical Director (2012-2014), Dr. Filipinas Rojo to the management team. Dr. Joven Monsanto as President of CMZ, in turn, presented the Program to the CMZ Board of Directors who approved of the program last February 2012.

C.M.Z. LOVE YOUR BREASTS POST 3

My third LOVE YOUR  BREAST post was still inspired while I was at the Conference at the Mactan Shangrila, and now, even these mini pizzas look like breasts!

Isn't this grave? (Does this translate to Grabbbbeeeee man!)

Here are some trivia:

The CMZ Breast Wellness Center was launched last March 20, 2012 and also serves as the premier Corporate Social Responsibility of Ciudad Medical Zamboanga.

C.M.Z. LOVE YOUR BREAST POST 2

My second LOVE YOUR  BREAST post was inspired while I was at the Mactan Shangrila, and these are seen as chandeliers and also as wall art!

Do you know what these round things are?

You guessed it right!
It is the sea urchin shell minus all the spikes!

I remember in Grade School, I had to report on sea urchins and they belong to Phylum Echinodermata!

Of course, in High School, many of our friends were "spiked" by these sea urchins in the beaches of Mactan Island in Cebu!
And as advised then, one needed to pee on the spikes as treatment! (Any comments?)

So much for sea urchins... since I was fixated on our B.R.A. Campaign, the sea urchins now look like breasts!

Just a few reminders:

C.M.Z. LOVE YOUR BREAST POST 1

My first LOVE YOUR  BREAST post was inspired while I was in a conference at the Mactan Shangrila, and served for morning snacks are these small burger buns, with nipples!

Instead of getting just one, I had to get two, with the photo image already in my mind!

UNSUNG HEROES...WORKFORCE IN THE HEALTH SECTOR

Healthcare professionals (from nursing and ancillary services) are in a very noble field, however, there are times they are taken for granted and under appreciated by the people they serve.

They are the unsung heroes who share their expertise and care whenever and wherever they are needed.

Many may not even know that they are willing to extend their duty to 16 hours to 24 hours, if the need arises when there is a temporary lack of staff (at certain times) during the Zamboanga City Crisis 2013.

The temporary lack of staff is not because they are afraid to come but because they come from the affected areas! Most of the time, the staffing is still maintained... and for this, we salute them!

Interestingly, even, if they are busy already with their duties, they still give time and talent to look for ways to help in this time of crisis during their off-duty... preparing food and water for the evacuees and soldiers... distributing them... helping out with the Red Cross and in the centers... and finding ways where they can be of service.

I guess, Service and Care are already embedded in their hearts...

But, most of all, we greatly thank our hospital support group, because maintenance, security, supplies, food, janitorial services are all readily available to augment the medical, nursing and ancillary services and they, themselves, are also unsung heroes!
(By the way, the Admin group, have also extended their hours when they are needed!)

And, especially, to the Finance group who really exerted great effort to coordinate with the banks for the payroll to be completed on time. You know you are highly appreciated by your colleagues!

Everyone is a hero in his or her own way! You may not always be recognized (or think you are not!), but, knowing that you did your share and even more, that is satisfaction enough because you have grown in spirit and in your own person!

NEW LIFE... NEW HOPE

newborn brought to Ciudad Medical Zamboanga for newborn care
In the midst of the Zamboanga City Crisis 2013, new life is born.

BUT, he is just one of them...

Some are fortunate and can avail of the facilities of the hospital...

But, we realize there are more who are born in the evacuation centers and in the areas affected!

They are so innocent... no idea of the evils...

I feel they are an inspiration for us...

We pray that the Lord be our guiding light as we make the world a better place to live in... for ourselves... and for the children!

ZAMBOANGA CITY CRISIS: THE POSITIVE SIDE OF IT

For the past three nights, the authorities have set an 8 pm to 5 am CURFEW for the City of Zamboanga.
It does sound strange, but everything is strange in this unusual time of Crisis!

Curfews... MNLF... hovering choppers... no inbound and outbound flights... no banks... no businesses... no stores... people in fear and panic... escape... hostage taking... bloodshed... poor policemen and soldiers in the frontline... blasts... mortars and RPGs (including those that don't explode)... MNLF checkpoints... exchange of fires... docking and taking cover... evacuation... no food... affected infrastructure... barangays in danger, with our friends in uncertainty... worst hospital situations... abandonment of posts... security issues... lack of resources... lack of suppliers...and the list goes on.

In the hospital setting, it is so difficult to get the balance of our call for service and the security of those who will provide the healthcare service... and to provide the service for new patients while still keeping resources for those who are already in!!!

But always remember to check if: THE SCENE IS SAFE!

But it also has brought about the SPIRIT OF UNITY AND LOVE... and the value of PERFORMANCE EXCELLENCE!

Coming on duty in spite of the uncertain safety and security concerns... being competent... being responsible... being selfless... being more willing to serve... knowing the risks but still keeping the fort... being united with the common goal... acquiring positive attitudes... cooperation and obedience emanates... no negative vibes... appreciating meager resources and little deeds of kindness... being more resourceful and gaining initiative... achieving unity in diversity... reaching unity in adversity... showing empathy... calls of concerns from family and friends... valuing our individual roles and contributions... realization of how important we are to each other!
Images from Ciudad Medical Zamboanga
With every adversity, there is always something GREAT that will come out of it!

But, we have to find it out for ourselves... have the realization to make the best of everything!!!
